General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the success of investors is the success of Vietnam; Vietnam is committed to continuing to improve the investment environment and maintaining political and social stability.
On the occasion of attending the opening meeting of the Gaza Peace Council, on the afternoon of February 20 (local time), General Secretary To Lam met with Mr. Kurt M. Campbell, former US Deputy Secretary of State .
During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam shared Vietnam’s major orientations in the new development phase, emphasizing the vision and strategic goals of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam , which prioritize institutional improvement, promoting growth, developing science and technology, innovation, the digital economy, and the green economy, while continuing deep, substantive, and effective international integration.
General Secretary To Lam welcomed and highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of Mr. Kurt Campbell in promoting Vietnam-US relations over the years.
Vietnam consistently pursues an independent, self-reliant, self-strengthening, peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developmental foreign policy, actively and responsibly participating in resolving common regional and international issues.

General Secretary To Lam requested that Mr. Kurt Campbell continue to play a reliable bridging role between Vietnam and the United States, the business community, and international partners, thereby promoting policy dialogue; providing strategic analyses on global economic, technological, and policy trends; and strengthening connections between American businesses and strategic investors with Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities, especially in the fields of high technology, finance, digital infrastructure, and clean energy.
The General Secretary also requested Mr. Kurt Campbell to encourage American businesses to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam, while improving governance standards and market transparency; and to promptly synthesize and reflect constructive proposals from the business community from the early stages of policy-making, contributing to enhancing the feasibility and effectiveness of cooperation between the State and investors.

For his part, Mr. Kurt Campbell expressed his sincere gratitude to General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to meet; congratulated him on the success of the 14th National Congress and his re-election as General Secretary.
He highly appreciated General Secretary To Lam’s visit to the US, stating that the visit and Vietnam’s participation in the Gaza Peace Council clearly demonstrate Vietnam’s proactive role, responsibility, and substantive contributions to international peace, stability, and cooperation.
Mr. Kurt Campbell expressed his deep impression of the vision, development goals, and major directions set forth at the 14th National Congress, considering them an important foundation for Vietnam to continue maintaining stability, rapid development, and sustainability in the future.
He stated that the American business community and partners highly appreciate Vietnam’s investment environment, considering Vietnam a strategic destination in the global supply chain and innovation sector. He also affirmed their readiness to continue accompanying and supporting the promotion of economic cooperation, investment, and business connections between the two countries.
On the afternoon of February 20th (local time), General Secretary To Lam departed Andrews Air Force Base, concluding his participation in the opening meeting of the Gaza Peace Council in Washington D.C. from February 18-20, at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, Chairman of the Gaza Peace Council.
Seeing off General Secretary To Lam and his delegation at Andrews Air Force Base were: Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung; Ambassador and Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the United Nations Do Hung Viet; Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco Hoang Anh Tuan; Vietnamese Consul General in Houston Hoang Thuy Duong; and other officials and staff of the Embassy.
