This year’s event was held under the theme: “Digital Transformation: Faster – More Effective – Closer to People.”

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Science and Technology honored organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting national digital transformation and announced the 2024 Provincial Digital Transformation Index (DTI) results.

Among the top five localities leading in DTI 2024, Hue ranked second nationwide, up one position from 2023. Hanoi topped the list for the first time, followed by Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Thanh Hoa. The DTI results of merged provinces and cities were calculated based on the average of their pre-merger indexes.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Digital Transformation Index consists of three levels: provincial, ministerial, and national.

The provincial DTI is structured around three main pillars: digital government, digital economy, and digital society — each with seven key indicators: awareness transformation, institutional development, digital infrastructure and platform development, digital information and data, digital activity performance, cybersecurity, and human resource development.

The annual DTI serves as an important basis to assess readiness and effectiveness in implementing digital transformation nationwide.

Vietnam’s National Digital Transformation journey, launched in 2020, has achieved remarkable milestones: 80% of public services are now processed entirely online; the digital economy accounts for nearly 20% of GDP; and a digital society of 100 million digital citizens has been established. Meanwhile, digital technology continues to reach every community and household.

The year 2025 marks a pivotal milestone, concluding the first five-year phase of the National Digital Transformation Program and paving the way for Phase 2 (2026–2030).
