On August 22, the 6th Regional Logistics Forum took place in Hue City with the participation of multiple government representatives, domestic and international experts.
With the theme “Cross-Border Logistics – Leveraged Growth to Drive the North Central and Central Coastal Regions”, the forum was co-organized by Business Forum Magazine and the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), under the direction of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the People’s Committees of provinces and cities. The event is expected to bring breakthroughs in regional logistics development strategies, creating a solid foundation for the new growth phase.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, emphasized that in the context of deep global integration, logistics has become the “lifeblood” of the economy – a critical link connecting production, circulation, and consumption, while enhancing global competitiveness. He highlighted the importance of applying advanced technologies and accelerating digital transformation across logistics and industry, not only to increase efficiency but also to contribute to sustainable development and reduce environmental impact.
According to Hue City’s development orientation toward 2030, the city aims to become a major hub of Southeast Asia, with logistics identified as a pillar of green development for the North Central region. The city will focus on digital transformation and green economy, integrating logistics with value chains to enhance competitiveness and unlock its full potential.
This year’s forum created an important platform for policymakers, experts, scientists, enterprises, and investors to exchange ideas, share solutions, and expand cooperation. It also addressed new opportunities such as establishing Free Trade Zones in Vietnam, alongside recommendations on policy frameworks strong enough to encourage investment and promote sustainable logistics growth in the region.
