On the morning of January 9, the Hue City People’s Committee held a conference to implement the socio-economic development and national defense–security plan for 2026, while also commending and awarding outstanding enterprises operating in the city.
At the conference, Gilimex Industrial Park Corporation was among the enterprises honored for its positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Hue City in 2025. This recognition acknowledges the company’s continuous efforts in promoting local economic growth and attracting investment to the region.
2025 Review and 2026 Objectives
In 2025, amid complex global and regional developments and increasingly severe natural disasters, Hue City maintained macroeconomic stability, ensured major economic balances, and sustained a positive growth momentum. Key sectors such as tourism, services, advanced healthcare, education, culture–heritage, and smart urban development continued to grow, making significant contributions to overall economic performance. Urban planning and management, as well as infrastructure investment, were prioritized; social welfare was ensured; national defense and security and social order and safety were maintained; and the material and spiritual living standards of the people continued to improve.
In 2025, the city achieved and exceeded 13 out of 14 key targets. GRDP growth is estimated at 8.5%–9%, ranking 12th out of 34 provinces and centrally governed cities nationwide, and 2nd out of 5 localities in the North Central region. Tourist arrivals are estimated at 6.3 million, up 61.5%; tourism revenue reached approximately VND 13 trillion, up 64.4% year-on-year. Trade, services, transportation, healthcare, education, and telecommunications continued to develop steadily.
The year 2026 holds particular significance, with the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term; it is also the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress and the 2026–2030 five-year socio-economic development plan, aiming toward double-digit growth.
The city has set the overarching goal for 2026 to continue maintaining socio-economic stability, improve the quality of growth, and develop a civilized, green, and smart urban area; accelerate digital transformation and administrative reform; ensure social welfare and improve the people’s living standards; and strengthen its role as a regional hub for culture, tourism, advanced healthcare, high-quality education, and services in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
Outstanding Contributions of Gilimex Industrial Park
Gilimex Hue Industrial Park, located in Phu Bai Ward, Hue City, is not only an ideal investment destination for domestic and foreign enterprises but also aspires to become a model of sustainable development in Central Vietnam.
