As part of Niigata Province’s activities in Vinh Long Province, a Business Connection Conference was held on the morning of August 5, where Vinh Long’s leaders met with the Industrial Policy Committee and businesses from Niigata, Japan.
A total of 14 businesses participated in the conference, including 6 from Vinh Long and 8 from Niigata.
During the event, the businesses introduced themselves, engaged in Q&A sessions, and exchanged ideas to foster cooperation.
According to Mr. Luong Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of Vinh Long’s Department of Planning and Investment, this conference provided an opportunity for associations and businesses from Vinh Long and Niigata to meet, network, and explore investment and business cooperation opportunities as outlined in the memorandum of understanding between Vinh Long (Vietnam) and Niigata (Japan).
To date, Vinh Long Province has attracted 76 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered capital of over $1 billion. Of these, Japan has invested in 11 projects in Vinh Long, with a total registered capital exceeding $413 million, ranking first in terms of total FDI in the province. The specific sectors include food production and processing; agricultural product manufacturing and processing; production of machinery, tools, small precision machine components, and automotive wiring harnesses.
Human resource connection was a key topic during the two-day visit of the Niigata delegation to Vinh Long on August 4 and 5. To enhance the quantity and quality of human resources, educational institutions from both provinces proposed several initiatives aimed at effective and sustainable cooperation.
In the recent human resources connection conference between Vinh Long and Niigata, nearly 400 students were introduced to various Niigata businesses. Additionally, students received direct consultations at booths set up by the eight participating Japanese companies.
Mr. Hanazumi Hideyo, Governor of Niigata, expressed his desire for Niigata to exchange human resources and technology with Vĩnh Long through this connection, with the goal of expanding exchanges in other fields. He invited Vinh Long’s leaders to visit Niigata to learn more about the province’s agriculture and industry, as well as the Vietnamese workforce currently employed there.
