On April 12th, PAPI (Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index) ranking 2022 was released by UNDP Vietnam. As announced, Thua Thien Hue province is one of the best performers and ranks 5th nation-wide.
In 2022, Thua Thien Hue scored 45.3845. The province also leads the list in other sub-indices, particularly control of corruption in public sector, transparency and public service delivery.
In the past time, Thua Thien Hue has adopted measures to improve its performance. In this attempt, the province hoped to improve public services; enhance the spirit of service; promote the transparency of public agencies; bring locals an opportunity to assess local governance performance; encourage self-assessment; create a healthy competitive environment and learning culture among local authorities.
Thua Thien Hue has comprehensively come up with solutions to improve all eight dimensions as well as the accountability of the leaders, staff working in public sectors and citizens.
PAPI 2022 illustrates the governance and public services delivery performance at all levels. It is a tool which helps citizens monitor local governments’ performance in implementing policies at grass-roots levels.
