Opportunity for Quang Tri to promote its potential

On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976-2023) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership (2013-2023), the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Thai Embassy in Vietnam held the Conference “Meet Thailand – 1”st Meet Thailand” from August 3 to August 4.8 in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.

Quang Tri is honored to be the first province to host the conference with the participation of about 400 domestic and foreign delegates. Including delegates from central government agencies, representatives of large commercial banks, Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Thailand and about 17 provinces and cities across the country. The conference was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam; Thai Business Association in Vietnam, organizations, agencies, about 40 Thai corporations and businesses in Vietnam as well as businesses from Thailand, and the delegation of the 5 Thai local government committee Lan (Mukdahan, Ubon Ratchathani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen).

Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, said that the conference is an important opportunity for Quang Tri to introduce and promote its potentials and advantages to delegates, especially Thai partners. This is an opportunity for businesses inside and outside the province and Thai businesses to meet and connect to promote future cooperation and investment opportunities in Quang Tri province with the support of ministries. These are two major orientations, which are receiving deep attention from all parties to mobilize resources to develop the country and localities, including Quang Tri province.

Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand in Vietnam said that over the years, the relationship between Thailand and Vietnam has made great strides in all aspects. Even though the program “Meet Thailand” is only held for the first time, it has received a lot of attention from delegates from the State sector and private businesses. Particularly in Thailand, the number of top business leaders attending this time is more than 100 people.

“Thailand is currently the 9th largest foreign investor in Vietnam and we will continue to promote cooperation in the coming time, especially in the areas of renewable energy, clean agriculture, retail… Thai investment is a quality investor who values ​​business but is also responsible for the values ​​of the community where we invest. I hope today’s event will make a certain contribution to the tradition of cooperation and good development of the two countries in particular and to the growth of the Mekong sub-region in general,” said Nikorndej Balankura.
